My father did not like cats. I thought that I did not like cats. What I didn't realize was I am allergic to cat dander (and so was my Dad!) and that is why I did not like to be around cats.

After taking pills, nasal steroids, inhalers, and allergy shots for 6 years, I am now only mildly allergic to the Doodalie Cats. The task was to overcome a lifelong perception and learn that cats are just different, not good or bad, but simply different than other animal experiences I had.

Once that perception shifted, there was no denying that cats are sensitive to their environment, and full of pure love. The more patience, empathy, and compassion I can show not just to the Doodalie Cats, but everyone, the better life is - that is the recipe. Simple, but not always easy.
